Bringing the Charles Darwin Foundation's new beautiful website to life
How we built a beautiful website to demonstrate the Foundation's vital environmental work and impact
Charles Darwin Foundation have been a leading environmental voice since 1959. They needed a website to tell the story of their work and highlight their impact.
From climate change to habitat loss and overfishing, the Galapagos Islands face unprecedented threats. Charles Darwin Foundation has been tackling these challenges through scientific research and conservation.
Using beautiful design and imagery, they needed to demonstrate that vital environmental work and impact in a compelling visual way.
This website design and build had unique challenges and the team at The Developer Society worked across time zones with key staff at Charles Darwin Foundation to solve problems and get the two-phase project on a strong foundation.
Some of the challenges included how to make the site accessible to local audiences with poor bandwidth, as well as planning for content migration of their many reports, news articles and more.
The team were delighted with the finished site and we are pretty pleased with it ourselves! Charles Darwin Foundation now have a modern, engaging and flexible website built on a firm foundation in Wagtail.
