Hayley's journey into programming began with six months of self-study in Python and Django. This led to a role as a Web Officer for a charity, where she honed her skills for a year and a half. Two years ago, Hayley joined The Developer Society as a junior developer, embracing the opportunity to learn and grow on the job.

At DEV, Hayley applies her expanding technical skills to create robust backend solutions that support mission-driven organisations. Her previous experience in the third sector gives her a unique perspective, allowing her to understand and intuitively anticipate partners' needs.

Hayley's approach to development is characterised by her strong communication skills, facilitation abilities, and organisational prowess. These soft skills, refined during her time in the NHS and charity sector, complement her technical abilities, making her an invaluable team member who can bridge the gap between partner needs and technical solutions.

Outside of work, Hayley's passion for the outdoors draws her to the Lake District, where she enjoys hiking and taking in the breathtaking scenery. Her love for nature and commitment to making a positive impact seamlessly blend with her professional life, inspiring her work at DEV.
