Joan of Arc
Joan of Arc: A Source of Inspiration
Joan of Arc, born in Domrémy-la-Pucelle, France, was a pious peasant girl who led the French army to a crucial victory against the English, believing she was guided by divine forces.
- Divine Guidance: Believed God chose her to lead France to victory in the Hundred Years' War.
- Military Leadership: Convinced Prince Charles to let her lead an army, achieving a key victory at Orléans.
- Martyrdom and Canonisation: Captured, tried for witchcraft, and executed at 19; later canonised in 1920 as a martyr and patron saint of France.
- National Heroine: Known for her bravery and faith, symbolising France's resistance and national spirit.
At The Developer Society, Joan inspires us with her courage and conviction. As a digital not-for-profit co-op, we strive to empower charities and NGOs, reflecting her dedication to a greater cause.
We acknowledge that no one is perfect, including Joan. Our focus is on drawing inspiration from her positive contributions while recognising that endorsing every aspect of a person's life and actions isn't necessary. We celebrate the values and actions that align with our mission to support social good through digital innovation.
